Terms of purchase

Personal information

We do not share any personal information you give us with anyone outside our company, and we only ask you for personal information in connection with a purchase. The information you give us will only be used in connection with your order.

When you give out personal information, such as address, phone number, credit card, etc. to an online store, you should always make sure that the page you are on is protected via SSL (Secure Socket Layers; a standard for encryption of information) this is shown by an image of a lock in the lower edge of the browser.

Cookies

We use cookies to store information that you use while visiting our pages. We do not store personal information in cookies, and personal information is not available on our pages using cookies. We do not use cookies to keep statistics about your internet use, and we do not allow others to use our cookies for similar purposes.

Email addresses

Your email address will be used as your username to access your account. We do our best to ensure that you do not receive unsolicited emails. When you set up an account with us, you can choose not to be included in any email lists (newsletters etc.) and you can remove yourself from these lists at any time. Under no circumstances, without your approval, will we sell or give away your email address to others.

Information collected by others

We do not allow anyone else to collect information during your visit to our sites.

Information collected by us

In order to provide better service, we store information about page hits and account usage. We do not share these statistics with others.

Inappropriate information, content for children

We do our best to avoid inappropriate information being displayed on our pages. We respect other people and their opinions, but reserve the right to moderate messages in online forums etc. to ensure that our pages are acceptable to everyone. None of our pages are aimed at children and none of our pages are offensive to children.

How do we ensure your safety?

We use encrypted communication for all transmission of sensitive data. This means that the entire ordering process, from the moment you enter your email address (either as a new or existing customer), takes place in such a way that if someone "tapped" the line, it would take them many years to break the code. The encryption used is the strongest recommended and available today (128-bit). Please note that some older browsers can only handle low encryption (40-bit). 40-bit is easier to crack than 128-bit, but we are still talking about years for a hacker, and then it costs more than it tastes. To check whether your browser uses 128-bit or 40-bit encryption, move your mouse over the lock in the status bar at the bottom of the browser.

When the next page appears, you should see a lock in the status bar of your browser. If a warning appears, this is because we use the same certificate for multiple websites - click yes/ok to continue. You can click on this lock to see information about the certificate and who issued it. The following pages are not accessible without this lock appearing in the browser's status bar.

Person/credit card number

We do not store your social security number - we only use it for encrypted checks against your credit information provider during ordering. If you pay by bank/credit card, we store the number, but this number is only available over encrypted communication even for administration purposes.

Resale/dissemination of information

The information you provide us with during the purchase process, including personal information and payment details, will be treated confidentially. We undertake not to share, sell or disclose this information to third parties without your consent, unless required by law.

Our policies

The current safety guidelines, as well as general terms and conditions of sale and delivery, and contact information, are at all times available through links from the main page. If you have any questions, please use the contact information to reach us.

Complaints and right of withdrawal:

If you discover errors or defects in the goods you have received, you must notify us within 8 days of the invoice date via vinkjeller@vinoteca.no. We understand that the right of withdrawal can be important, which is why we follow the Cancellation Act, which gives you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days of receiving the item. The right of withdrawal only applies to goods that are returned in the same condition as they were received and in the original packaging. Any costs associated with returning the item will be the customer's responsibility, unless the item is defective or incorrectly shipped.

Cancellations

Orders are processed very quickly. Sometimes the order is completed just minutes after we receive it, so please make sure you need the goods before ordering. Cancellations must be made via vinkjeller@vinoteca.no

Damage to the product

If you discover that the parcel is damaged when you pick it up at the post office, you must report this immediately. The contact point here is: kvinkjeller@vinoteca.no

If you only discover transport damage when you open the packaging you must take the entire shipment, including the packaging, back to the post office as soon as possible and fill in a damage form. The post office will help you fill in their standard damage form.

Defective product If we have sent you a defective or faulty product, it must be returned immediately in the original packaging with paid return shipping and in substantially the same condition and quantity. You lose your right to claim the defect if you do not notify us of the nature of the defect within a reasonable time after you discovered or should have discovered the defect. This is reported to: vinkjeller@vinoteca.no. If the item is defective, you will be refunded the most reasonable shipping costs. The Sale of Goods Act sets an outer limit for claiming a defect.

Right of withdrawal

The Cancellation Act gives the consumer an unconditional right to withdraw from the agreement (right of withdrawal) by notifying the seller within 14 days after the consumer has received the entire item and the information required pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Cancellation Act has been received in the prescribed manner, including a withdrawal form. The right of withdrawal expires no later than three months after receipt of the goods or after one year if information about the right of withdrawal has not been provided. The deadline is considered to have been met if the notification is sent within the deadline and in a manner that is reasonable under the circumstances. In the notification, the consumer must state how the goods will be returned. When using the right of withdrawal, the parties' obligation to fulfill the agreement lapses. If either party has fulfilled all or part of the agreement, a return shall take place. The consumer must return the goods within a reasonable time. This applies even if the consumer has not received what he or she is entitled to receive from the seller. The seller is obliged to refund what the consumer has paid within 14 days from the day the seller receives the goods or collection note, or the goods have been made available. If you have a postal giro account or bank account, please provide the account number. Any costs associated with the return of the goods are borne by the consumer, unless the seller has breached the agreement or the seller has delivered a replacement item in accordance with the agreement because the ordered item was not available. Goods that have been sent through the post or independent carrier shall be returned in the same way or delivered to the seller in the original packaging with paid return shipping. The consumer is not obliged to receive or redeem an item before returning it to the seller, but may instead pay the return costs and ask the person delivering the item to return the item to the seller. However, it is a prerequisite that the buyer notifies the seller within 14 days that the right of withdrawal is being exercised.

Exceptions and limitations to the right of withdrawal:

The right of withdrawal does not apply if the goods cannot be returned in approximately the same condition and quantity, and the damage or deterioration is due to negligence or lack of care on the part of the buyer. Furthermore, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for sound or image recordings or computer programs where the seal has been broken.

We do our best to provide quality goods and services, but we cannot be held responsible for incorrect use, external influences or any consequential damage. The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that cannot be returned in the same condition and quantity, or if the seal has been broken on sound or image recordings or computer programs.

Warranty:

We follow the manufacturer's warranty conditions as specified under the product information. The warranty applies to goods with material or manufacturing defects. Defects arising from abnormal use or external influences are not covered by the warranty.

The warranty does not apply:

  • Faults caused by abnormal use or external influences.
